My name is Ilinka and you can find me on Instagram: @ilinkabeckles_va or Twitter: @ilinkabecklesva and I currently work full time at the Vision Achievement Academy.
I am one part of the wonderful social marketing team we have here. I always have enjoyed social media with the way it brings people across the globe together, sharing stories, advice, encouraging others within their personal and work lives. I always have loved to write stories, poems, letters – Always positive things to give to others as there is nothing better for me than spreading kindness and helping others.
Whilst I like writing stories and poems. It is a process as a part of me is related to my dyslexia, and dyscalculia. It is something special about me because I work extra hard to do the ‘more simple’ things like writing a blog or learning from my team mates which I love to do. Sometimes it is good to know that something I bring to the team having these learning difficulties shows that I am a resilient team member who always tries and loves to learn. There are no limits for anyone, what I am trying to say is don’t let your mind hold you back, find ways around to get what you want, anything is possible.
I was born in Leicester, grew up in Greater Manchester and now live in the wonderful Newcastle Upon Tyne so quite a range of places and all so very far from each. I love to explore new places, walking, I love gardening, and I love cats, so much so I have four!
As well as being a full time Social Marketing Manager, I am currently partaking in a Batchelor Degree part time in Psychology with Counselling so my time is always filled with something exciting.
I have had various roles in the past such as being a: care assistant, nursery nurse, support worker, sales associate etc. Each role I have had has been a learning experience. I feel like when I left school I was just thrown into the world with no direct route, no plan of what I wanted to do…
This is why I am so passionate about the Achievement Academy because it’s encouraging and helping those who want and need the guidance that many of us don’t have when going from education and into the workplace. We have many recourses available: courses for you to take such as how to fit in with your new team, working out how you can carry your interests into your job. We have many courses, tips and tricks, we also offer webinars to businesses and individuals.
As always if you have any questions about the Academy you can message us on our website, via social media or email [email protected] I hope this has helped you get to know me a bit better and you look forward to hearing from my colleagues over the next few weeks.
Have a great weekend, looking forward to hearing from you all.
Take care Ilinka
